Harbor Island is a private, coastal residential island.
Harbor's nearest neighbors are
Hunting Island State Park, Fripp Island and Pritchard's Island, a nature conservancy
owned and operated by the University of South
Carolina.
Along the
Atlantic, our beach offers beautiful
sunrises. Harbor Island is blessed with a mild subtropical
climate that makes it possible to enjoy your favorite sports year round.
Two tennis courts, swimming pools and two exercise rooms bring enjoyment
for everyone and let us not forget the Atlantic Ocean! From December through February, the average monthly high is 60 degrees. In
July and August when the average high peaks at 89 degrees, the sunshine is
usually accompanied by a cooling ocean breeze.
The climate
encourages exotic foliage and flowers bloom against backdrops of
palmettos, moss-draped oaks and pines in every season. The wildlife is so
diverse, from herons to bald eagles and the loggerhead sea turtle in summer! We know that you will just love
Harbor Island and we hope you enjoy your visit and come back soon!
